Though Bill Murray seems to not have much faith in the movie, Dan Aykroyd, who has been co-writing the script for Ghostbusters 3 with The Office writer-producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, seems to feel pretty good about it.
Of the script, Aykroyd says they have a “strong first draft” where the new and old Ghostbusters are well represented, and that they wrote Bill Murray the “comic role of a lifetime.”
Aykroyd has also revealed new details for his character Dr. Raymond Stantz:
“Now [in Ghostbusters 3] my character’s eyesight is shot, I got a bad knee, a bad hip—I can’t drive that caddy anymore or lift that Psychotron Accelerator anymore, it’s too heavy. We need young legs, new minds—new Ghostbusters; so I’m in essence passing the torch to the new regime, and you know what? That’s totally okay with me.”
Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis, and Sigourney Weaver are all supposedly set to return, with Ivan Reitman directing.
Whether the movie is great or terrible, I just want to see a new Ghostbusters film.
