Last week Rob Zombie announced that this week he would announce what his official next project would be.
Well it turns out that project is The Lords of Salem.
The Lords of Salem has been put together by Haunted Films, the company run by the Paranormal Activity and Insidious team of Jason Blum, Steven Schneider and Oren Peli. Andy Gould (producer on all of Zombie’s films) also produces with Jeremy Platt co-producing.
The Lords of Salem is a thriller is set in contemporary Salem, where the inhabitants receive a demonic visit from a 300-year old coven of witches.
Rob Zombie will write the script while on his upcoming tour, and will shoot next year. Zombie said he originally hatched the Salem premise several years ago, but started stirring the cauldron again when he changed his plan to direct a remake of The Blob.
