Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash has just formed a horror movie production company cleverly (note the sarcasm) titled Slasher Films, aimed at “edgy contemporary horror fare with a nod to the thrillers of the ’70s and ’80s.”
The first offering from Slasher Films will be Nothing To Fear, where a family moves to a small town and is tormented by a demon with insatiable bloodlust.
According to Slash:
“I’ve always been a huge horror fan and creating films that take you back to the days where horror movies actually scared the hell out of you is something I’ve always wanted to do. My audience is made up of young, edgy, discerning consumers, with an appetite for quality and a hint of anarchy.”
I’m not actually sure his audience has been young and edgy for the last twenty years. I just hope I can overcome the vision of a cock rock Cousin It behind the camera long enough to enjoy his films. Now if he and the rest of his band were brutally slaughtered in each film, I might consider it.
